What is the 10th ICSWHMH?

The 10th International Conference on Social Work in Health and Mental Health is a hybrid event between Tuesday 19 – Friday 22 November 2024 that will bring over 600+ delegates from Australia and around the world together to exchange information on current challenges and trends as well gain knowledge from leading experts and so much more. When and where can I pick up my attendee badge?

You can collect your badge from the Badge Collection at the MCEC.

The badge collection desk is open at the following times:

  • Tuesday 19 November - 3:30pm - 5:30pm
  • Wednesday 20 November - 8am - 2pm
  • Thursday 21 November - 7am - 2pm
  • Friday 22 November - 8am - 12pm

How can I find out news and updates as they come?

Do you accept cash on site?

Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre is a cashless venue. Only card payments will be permitted throughout MCEC.

Can I take photos and videos?

You may take photos and videos of your time at the 10th ICSWHMH if you don’t obstruct pathways and prevent other delegates from moving around. Please also respect the right of a delegate or exhibitor to ask not to be captured on your camera roll.

What hotels are available for booking?

The 10th ICSWHMH will offer delegates a variety of specially negotiated hotel and apartment accommodation choices within close proximity to the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre. More information to be released soon.  


I'm having trouble with the website and/or registration portal

If you are having trouble with the conference website or the registration portal try clearing your browsing cache and reloading the website. For optimal accessibility the website and registration portal run best on a Google Chrome web browser.


What is the dress code?

The dress code for the conference and the welcome function is smart casual.

The dress code for the Gala Dinner is lounge suit/cocktail dress


Is the Conference Neuro Divergent friendly?

Conferences have a lot of sensory stimulation occurring during their delivery, we would encourage delegates to speak with their support network in advanced ahead of the event. The following will be available to all delegates:

  • Sensory safe food can be made available on request. Please email any requirements to aasw@forumgroupevents.com.au by Friday 1st November. We cannot guarantee your request if it is received after this date. 
  • Although there are no dedicated quiet spaces at MCEC, there are several lounge areas scattered around the venue, for any delegates who might need to step away from the activities of the conference.
  • There will be AASW staff trained in psychological first aid available on site to anyone who is in distress. If you are in need of assistance, please contact a conference staff member and they will connect you with the appropriate staff member.

Abstracts are open from Monday 19 February 2024 and you can apply through our call for abstracts gateway, click here for all the information.

When do abstracts close?

Abstracts close on 13 May 2024.

How can I apply for Media passes?

Media passes are provided on a case by case basis. If you’d like to apply please contact the events team directly at eventsteam@aasw.asn.au and advise any of the following information.

  • What publication/outlet you work for
  • What session you interested in covering
  • Speakers you’d like to interview
  • Exhibitors you’d like to interview
  • Would you like to meet with Cindy Smith for an interview?

REGISTRATIONS

How much is a ticket?

There are a wide range of ticket prices, to see the current ticket prices please click here as we have a range of prices – members of the Australian Association for Social Workers receive a discount and we have student pricing options available as well.

Do I qualify as a student?

The ICSWHMH defines a student as a person who is enrolled in a Bachelor of Social Work or Masters of Social Work (qualifying) or if you are taking a full time Masters in Social Work.

How can I pay for my registration?

You can pay by credit card online when you register, we accept Visa and Mastercard.

Can I pay via invoice?

No, to finalise and confirm your registration, payment must be made via credit card.

PROGRAM AND CONTENT

Is the program going to be live streamed?

The 10th International Conference on Social Workers in Health and Mental Health is a hybrid event. The main plenary will be live streamed on the day of the Conference. All other concurrent sessions (not including workshops and activities) will be recorded and offered for on-demand viewing to all registered delegates (in-person and online) shortly after the Conference has ended.

Does the Conference go towards my CPD hours for the year?

CPD hours can be claimed by Australian Association of Social Work members.

If I’m watching online, can I share my login?

Sharing logins is against our Terms and Conditions. In addition CPD hours are only calculated for the ticket holder who attends.

What if I want to watch two sessions that are on at the same time?

We aim to record as many sessions as possible for delegates so you can re watch a session or review a session that was on at a conflicting time on the day of the Conference. As such, all plenary and concurrent sessions (not including workshops and activities) will be recorded and offered for on-demand viewing to all registered delegates (in-person and online) shortly after the Conference has ended.


Can I pre book into the workshops? 

The workshops are first in, best dressed and cannot be booked in advance, so make sure to arrive early so you don't miss out.
