| Associate Professor Naomi Dale University of Canberra, Australia Dr Naomi Dale is an Associate Professor of Management in the Faculty of Business, Government and Law at University of Canberra. She is CEO of the Canberra Region Tourism Industry Council, co-ordinator of the Visitor Research Forum and a mentor for the Indigenous Marathon Foundation. Naomi’s research incorporates the specific areas of Indigenous tourism, educational tourism, policy impacts of curriculum, and visitor research and evaluation at cultural institutions and national capital attractions. Emerging research interests are in the application of social media, and strategies for engagement through e-platforms (in teaching, tourism and events). Other key areas are around sustainability, service channels, consumer behaviour and marketing. |

Professor Karen Smith Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand Dr Karen A. Smith is Professor of Tourism Management and Associate Dean (Learning & Teaching) at the Wellington School of Business and Government at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand. Karen is an expert on volunteer management; much of her research concerns volunteers and their management in the tourism and events sectors, and more broadly in non-profit organisations in areas as diverse as health, emergency management, and conservation. In 2019 Karen was made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to volunteering and education. She has been both a mentor and mentee and been part of her University’s Academic Mentoring Reference Group. | |
Dr Songshan (Sam) Huang Edith Cowan University, Australia Dr Songshan (Sam) Huang is Vice Chancellor’s Professorial Research Fellow, Professor of Tourism and Services Marketing at the School of Business and Law, Edith Cowan University. He is the Head of the School’s Centre for Tourism Research, and the Founding Director of Australia-China Tourism Research Network. Prof. Huang is the co-editor of Tourism Planning and Development and serves on the editorial boards of 7 tourism and hospitality journals. He has published over 120 refereed journal articles, most of which are in SSCI-indexed journals. His research interests include consumer behaviour in tourism and hospitality, destination marketing, hotel management, and tour guiding. | |
| Professor Candice Harris Auckland University of Technology Candice is a Professor of Management in the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law at Auckland University of Technology. She is also Head of the Department of Management – home to 30 academic staff. Her main areas of research are careers, diversity and gendered experiences of work (paid and unpaid). Candice also works as co-leader of the New Zealand Universities Women in Leadership (NZWIL) Steering Group. Candice also has experience in executive education delivering leadership development programmes. In 2018 she was awarded a Vice Chancellor’s Diversity Award for her contributions in the area of gender and diversity within AUT and beyond. |

Associate Professor Tamara Young University of Newcastle, Australia Tamara Young is Associate Professor of Tourism in the College of Human and Social Futures at the University of Newcastle. Tamara is celebrated as a thought leader at her university where she drives impact by inspiring people at the intersection of each of her academic career priorities: research, engagement, and teaching. Tamara combines her passion for teaching sustainable tourism management with her research on traveled and travelling cultures. Her achievements have recently been celebrated with a College Excellence Award for Industry Engagement, her completion of a Women in Leadership program, and a prestigious Women in Research Fellowship. | |
Associate Professor Sebastian Filep Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong Sebastian Filep, PhD, is Assistant Dean (International Collaboration) and Associate Professor at the School of Hotel and Tourism Management of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong. Sebastian is a global citizen, having lived and worked in various parts of Europe, Australia, New Zealand and currently Hong Kong. His research is on tourist behaviour and well-being. Sebastian is on editorial boards of several academic journals in the field. He served as Second Vice Chair of CAUTHE, and as CAUTHE 2017 Conference Chair. Sebastian is an active PhD advisor and teaches doctoral and undergraduate level courses in tourism management. | |
Dr Najmeh Hassanli University of Technology Sydney Business School, Australia Najmeh Hassanli is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Technology Sydney Business School. Underpinned by her commitment to deliver practical benefits to individuals, organisations, and society, her work focuses on two main areas: The role of leisure for under-represented and marginalised groups; and social sustainability and ethical business practices in SMEs. She serves on the editorial panel of a number of journals, including Tourism Management Perspectives and Event Management. Outside of work, Najmeh loves travelling, hiking, and spending time with family & friends. | |
| Associate Professor Kevin Kam Fung So Oklahoma State University, United States Dr. So is William E. Davis Professor and Associate Professor (tenured) in hospitality and tourism management at Oklahoma State University. An award-winning scholar, Dr. So’s research interests lie at the intersection between hospitality and tourism marketing and service management. He has published more than 50 peer-reviewed articles in the ABDC A and A* journals. Dr. So has received many research awards including the Emerald/EFMD Outstanding Doctoral Research Award, JHTR’s Best Article of the Year Award, and the William Bradford Wiley Memorial Best Research Paper of the Year Award. In 2019, Dr. So was named a Breakthrough Star of the University of South Carolina. Dr. So has been awarded nearly US$600,000 in research funding. |
